I'm So Glad My Site Wasn't Showing Up on Google

It’s easy to say that now. It wasn’t a year ago!!

There are moments in life when you just have to hold on and keep putting one foot in front to the other. For the past year I have had in mind the picture of Peter on those stormy waves. Jesus had invited him onto the sea and Peter loved the challenge - he immediately got out of the boat and started walking on the water straight towards Jesus because that’s where his eyes were focused. But when he saw the wind he was afraid and started sinking.

All year long I have heard “eyes on me, Kristie, eyes on me”. So I have had to stay focused on Jesus. It hasn’t been easy at times!

The middle is hard, right?!

The beginning is exciting, hope filled, dreamy... the learning and the planning all bring a bit of expectation and wonder. Then you come to the middle. The place where you aren't seeing any fruit for the amount of work you've put in. Some days you can motivate yourself to keep going, but other days you don't know if you can stomach one more moment of the work.

Romans 8:28 For we know that in all things God works to the good of those who love him and have been called according to his purpose.

It's one of the first verses I remember memorizing... it's probably one of the verses I turn over again and again in my head (along with Proverbs 3:5-6).

My website just was not showing up, and nothing I did was making it show up. The waves of hoping this blog post would work, and feeling defeat when there was not traction was almost unbearable ... hope, failure, hope, failure, hope, failure... it wears on you.

In that year before my deep dive into SEO, in the moments of defeat and very truthfully heartbreak, I just kept repeating that verse... ALL things work to the GOOD of those who love Him and who have been called.

Here is what I knew to be true: I am good at untangling knots, I am good at simplifying things, I am good at marrying details and putting them in the correct order. I am good at puzzles, and I love them.

Then a lightbulb moment - Tell other people about this!! There in popped up my education site.

Had I not had the years of struggle and not seeing the pieces fit together, I never would have been able to meet you and talk to you and help you with your business. It's such an amazing moment to look back and be able to say—ALL things work together for the good. God loves me, He has worked things for my good... and is still working all things to for my good. God loves you and is doing the same! Eyes on him, friend, eyes on him!

Spend a moment thanking Him. Spend a moment pouring out your cares on Him. Spend a moment focusing on what is true and good and lovely.
